New things to come....

OK...Now that the regular season is over I am going to begin following recruiting and off-season happenings around the state. I will update my blog with what I hear, see, and find out from players coaches and athletic directors.

It should be an exciting new few months as the athletes across our state begin to examine colleges and programs where they would like to continue playing and attend school.

If you hear of anything or would like to share your own stories from the schools that you attend, shoot me a quick email.

Until next time, have a very Merry Christmas and we'll see you soon!

Senior Night For JCS - High Score Night For Peabody

This past Friday night we took the Tailgate Tour on the road to Jackson Christian School and it just so happened to be Senior Night.

The crowd was huge as they took on a big rival in that of Trenton Peabody. The folks were there to have a great time. The weather was perfect for a football game and the guys most definitely can cook up some incredible food at JCS....I'm talking thick, juicy grilled pork-chops! These guys know how to tailgate!

We had a great time meeting new people and giving away prizes. Our partners at State Farm handed out a ton of freebies and we even got to play a little corn-hole toss.

The game was packed full of action with Peabody just dominating the entire game. It seemed like everytime you turned around Peabody was scoring again. Peabody was basiclly in charge of the game and won 42-7.

It was a great Tailgate Tour event in Jackson and we will be traveling over to Blount County this next Friday as we set up for the huge inter-county rivalry between the Governors of William Blount and the Mountaineers at Heritage.

Friendship Christian Has Pride and Tradition

Well it may have taken me a few days to get my blog updated on the site but we've been on the road and it's kinda hard sometimes when you can't get WI-FI to cooperate.

Anyway, last Friday was a great tour stop for us at Friendship Christian School in Lebanon when they took on rival Gordonsville. The tradition with these two teams goes way back as does their rivalry. FCS bumped off Gordonsville to make it to the state last season, but Gordonsville was there to return the favor this year. Our presenting tour sponsor, TN Air National Guard, brought their inflatable Hoops game and it was a tremendous hit as well as all the great items they handed out.......thanks guys!
And our title sponsor, State Farm was once again showing off their roulette wheel as fans could spin for a chance to win a $20 VISA debit card or a bunch of other cool prizes.

We had a great turn out for the game and a lot of folks came by and enjoyed our tour activities and took home a lot of cool prizes. Each team has this thing about air horns. I'm not talking your everyday run-of-the-mill handheld air horn. These things were HUGE. They took up the entire bed of a pick-up truck. Whenever one or the other had a significant play you would think a train was coming down the field when the fans on either side would sound their horns as though they were the ones competing.....they probably were. It was Great!

We enjoyed meeting some new people and sharing some laughs and all-in-all even though it was a smaller event than normal we had a good time.

Look for us this next week as we are scheduled to be at Jackson Christian when they host Peabody.

Panthers Seeing Red

Well the Powell Panthers did not get what they came to Halls for...a "W". However, VSM got a WIN with our Tailgate Tour. The fans had a great time winning prizes and spinning the State Farm prize wheel.

In fact, we were so busy having a great time with all of the fans that I only got a chance to shoot pictures during the game.

It was a great game and it was also homecoming for Halls. Although it didn't turn out the way the Powell fans hoped that it would they still gave it their best effort.

Look for us this next week as we travel to Lebanon, TN where we will be visiting Friendship Christian as they take on Gordonsville.

McCallie vs Baylor...Definitely Tradition!

This week we were at Baylor for the game against McCallie. It was indeed a great game! We set up our event in front of the Gym and had a great turn out for the tailgate.

Lots of freebies were handed out and the fans had a great time meeting and talking with us and our State Farm and Air National Guard sponsors.

State Farm is with us every week with a bunch of great prizes so you need to search us out when we are at your school. In fact, we even have fun for adults.....if you hit the correct number on our "Spin The Wheel" contest, you might just win a $20 VISA Debit card.

The TN Air National Guard also has a cool football throwing game. If you can hit the target you win! There are too many great prizes to list so come on over to us when we are at your school.

This week we are at Halls High School when they take on the Panthers from Powell. Be there early. We start at 4:30 and tailgate until kick-off. We'll see you there!

It was all Indians

Friday night the Tailgate Tour traveled to Kingsport whrere the Dobyns Bennett Indians took on the Cyclones of Elizabethton. The Indians were definitely on a warpath.

The students were great there and they seemed to have a lot of fun visiting with us at our Tailgate Tour.

Not only does Dobyns Bennett have an excellent football team but their band is also incredible. I was told by one of the students that they have the largest band in the state. It was Huge!

We had a great time and the folks there were very hospitable. I look forward to going back again next year.

This next week we'll be at Baylor in Chattanooga when they face off with McCallie. Hope we see you there!

What a Game!

It was a barn burner of a game this week as we traveled to Athens, TN and took the Tailgate Tour to McMinn Co. High School. The Cherokees of McMinn Co. got the win in double overtime...24-21.

The fans began pouring into the stadium and we were right there to capture their attention and their attire as the arrived for what turned out to be an incredible high school football match-up.

Even though the Admirals were not able to pull it out in the end, their senior supporters were right there behind them all the way. In fact, these guys were the first ones to the stadium.

We had a great time and we are definitely looking forward to hitting the road once again next Friday as we visit the campus of Dobyns Bennett high school in Kingsport, TN.

Check back each week to see if your picture made it to the blog.

Bulldogs Great Hosts!

And the Tailgate Tour continues....Smyrna High School was host of the most recent tour stop and we had a lot of fun. We met a lot of new people and enjoyed a great game of football.

If we shot your picture at the tour then you might just find it right here. Or you might see yourself in the video at the bottom of this blog episode.

One thing that I noticed that the Smyrna Bulldogs do real well and that is Tailgate. The folks started getting to the game a couple of hours early with their grills and campers and were staking claim to their favorite spots. You could smell great food all across the campus.

I walked around and visited with some of the folks and everyone was super nice and looking forward to a great game.

I even got to meet the parents of Chris Jordan. One of the players that we profiled in Tennessee Football magazine this year.

Once inside the game I found a couple of guys that seemed to be a little confused.

Who knows wht they were thinking?

Were they trying to tell me that both Tennessee and Alabama are number One? I don't think so!

Maybe they were trying to tell me that this was their first ball game?

Anyway...they seemed to be having a good time.

The Eagles Flew High

The Gibbs Eagles Flew High over the Union County Patriots 23-6. Here's a shot I got of the Gibbs Quarterback Joey Shipman as he scampered from the Patriots defense.

The Tailgate Tour visited the Union County high school this week as they took on the Eagles of Gibbs High School. The Patriots lost the game but the Tour was a Huge success!

The hospitality of UCHS was superb and the fans were awesome. I think that we probably had as much fun as the fans did.

Lots of fun and games were enjoyed by all and the music provided by Love 89FM was great!

Each week as we take photos at the Tour we are adding them to our picturebook. We want to see which school has the most spirit and which fans are the most elaborate when it comes to dressing in their school colors or painting their faces or whatever might be done.

We had a chance this past Friday to meet some new people, see some new faces and add some "Game Faces" to our picturebook.

If you see us at your school make sure to ask us to see our picturebook. There are some real crazy fans out there. Here's a short video clip of some of the action from Union County High School.

We'll look for you this next week as we travel to Smyrna High School when they take on Brentwood Academy!

Tour Visits Tornadoes

Once again we took the the road for the State Farm High School footbal Tailgate Tour. The stop this time was in Alcoa, TN to see the Maryville Red Rebels take on the Alcoa Tornadoes.

The tour area was buzzing the entire time with music, games and giveaways. The Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union crew was with us and they were giving away rally towels for both teams fans that wanted one. Look for them to be with us in the Knoxville area to get your rally towel with your own school colors. They will also give you a chance to win a Yellow VW Bug Boombox.

As with each tour stop we always look for you the fan to "Show us Your Game Face." We got a few shots of some faces at this game and we look forward to seeing how elaborate you can be we we come to your school.

So, be sure to look for us at your school and "Show us Your Game Face"! This week we will be traveling up to Union County High School to see the Patriots take on the Eagles from Gibbs High School. We hope to see you there!

Tailgate Tour Kicks Off

The 2007 State Farm High School Football Talgate Tour began this past Friday night at Ravenwood high school. The fans started coming into the the parking lot for tailgating fun around 4:30 and we were there to meet them.

We had State Farm freebies, music (thanks to Peavey), a Football throwing game by the Tenessee Air National Guard and everyone was getting tattooed up with Fan U tattoos. (http://www.fanu.com/)

We even had some FREE copies of the new Tennessee Football magazine with us. I'll have to tell you that the fans at Ravenwood know how to have a tailgate party. They had their flags flying the music cranking and their Girls were hot....I mean their Grills were hot!

Let's see if we can catch your team at having a better tailgating time than these guys were.

Then Saturday it was on to Memphis for the Bridges Kickoff Classic at the Liberty Bowl Stadium. The first of four games started at 10am and the fans began pouring in around 9am. Once again we were there with music, games and prizes. The excitement lasted well into the evening with the last game at 7pm.

The next time you see the Tennesse Air National Guard trailer you have got to go inside of it. These things are way cool. They have an airplane simulator game inside that will knock you off your feet. It is very fun. We had fans playing it all day long.

In spite of the heat this past weekend the Tailgate Tour was a success and we hope to see you and your crew this next week as we travel to Aloca, TN when the Maryville Red Rebels travel over to play the Tornadoes of Alcoa.
